Three injured, including officer, after suspected DUI crash in Denver metro area

Three people, including a police officer, were injured when they were hit by a suspected drunk driver south of Denver on Friday.

The Colorado State Patrol says Greenwood Village police officers were responding to a prior crash involving two vehicles on I-25 northbound near Orchard Road around 11 p.m. Friday.

While at the scene, a suspected drunk driver rear-ended the patrol vehicle.

Two passengers in the same car and a Greenwood officer suffered minor injuries in the crash.

The suspect is facing charges of driving under the influence, careless driving, driving with a suspended license and failing to stop for an emergency vehicle.
