Pursuit Suspect Arrested During Standoff With CHP Officers In Whittier
EAST WHITTIER (CBSLA.com) — A possible carjacking suspect was arrested Thursday during a standoff with police in Whittier.
The chase began around 3:30 a.m. on the westbound 210 Freeway at the 605 Freeway, according to California Highway Patrol officers.
The suspect quickly led authorities along the southbound 605 Freeway and the southbound 5 Freeway.
The hour-long pursuit terminated in the area of Culver Road and Mar Vista, according to officers.
The man surrendered to police shortly before 5 a.m., officials said.
It remains unclear if the suspect was armed during the incident.
The investigation is ongoing.
