Mystery Girl Gets Proper Burial 120 Years After Death
SAN FRANCISCO (CBSLA.com) — A child's casket found under a San Francisco home has been buried for the second time, KPIX reported.
The casket was discovered under a driveway last month during a renovation project.
It's believed the casket was left behind when a cemetery was relocated in the late 1800s.
The girl was two or three years old when she died.
An organization that arranges burials for unidentified children interred the girl, now known as "Miranda," in a cemetery in Colma south of San Francisco Saturday.
A large crowd attended the ceremony.
A granite headstone reads:
"Miranda Eve, The Child Loved Around The World"
"If no one grieves, no one will remember."
