Helpful Holiday Events

This past holiday season, the Southern California Honda Dealers got together to help those in need. As part of their ongoing Random Acts of Helpfulness campaign, they helped put food and toys into the hands of needy families, and handed out free gas to Honda drivers.

Four Days of Giving
On Tuesday, December 15th, the SoCal Honda Dealers held a bike building event in the city of Colton. After all, what kid doesn't love to find a brand new bike under his or her Christmas tree? The event ensured that needy children had a fun and healthy on Christmas morning. The bikes were donated to the youngsters served by Seeds of Hope, an organization devoted to at-risk children in the Inland Empire. Seeds of Hope helps the working poor, who often struggle to provide Christmas gifts for their children.

On Wednesday, December 16th, the helpful Guys in Blue devoted a full day to helping those in need. In the morning, they served up hot, hearty breakfasts and lunches to people at the Pasadena Union Station Homeless Services Adult Center. Additionally, they handed out essentials to the center's clients. Next, the Helpful Honda Guys went to the Hollywood Boys & Girls Club, where they enjoyed holiday activities with the kids. They posed for "elfies" with the youngsters, and gave them all goody bags. This event helped benefit more than 150 children who rely on the Boys & Girls Club as a safe and supportive presence in their lives.

On Thursday, December 17th, SoCal Honda helped the Community Action Partnership of Orange County, bringing gifts to the families and senior citizens served by the Anaheim Independencia Family Resource Center. In addition to getting presents, kids were able to meet Santa Claus in person. It wouldn't be a holiday event without a feast, so attendees had a delicious Christmas lunch.

On Friday, December 18th, the Guys in Blue capped off their week of helping the needy by throwing a festive holiday bash for 250 of the people served by Ocean Park Community Centers in Santa Monica. Party attendees enjoyed a hot, delicious meal and got to hear live music all afternoon.

Random Acts Of Helpfulness All Season
These events are all part of the ongoing efforts by the SoCal Honda Dealers, whose teams show up at hundreds of locations every week to surprise kids with holiday treats, stock local food banks and provide Christmas toys to charities. They also do Random Acts of Helpfulness like passing out hot cocoa and gloves at Six Flags Magic Mountain, pumping gas from their free gas tanker trucks and giving out treats from their Helpful Holiday Treat Truck. Don't be surprised if one of them offers to carry your groceries at the store, or unexpectedly shows up to offer you a fun day at a local ice skating rink.
