'Happy' The Dog Joins Hallmark Pet Initiative

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — Dr. Kwane Stewart and "Happy" the dog stopped by Thursday to talk about a pet initiative the American Humane Association is working on.

The Hallmark Pet Initiative uses entertainment to show the joys that pets bring into everyday lives.

"Happy" the cat, a 3-year-old tabby who was rescued from an Ohio animal shelter, was the first officials rescue pet that was adopted by the network in 2014.

"Happy" the dog is the newest pet to join the network's furry family. He is the company's first ever canine goodwill ambassador, and has just begun training to be a therapy dog for sick children and their families.

Crown Media Family Networks continues their partnership with the American Humane Association.
