Diamond-Studded Birkin Bag Sells For $185K At Beverly Hills Auction
BEVERLY HILLS (CBSLA.com) — A diamond-studded Hermès Birkin bag sold Tuesday for $185,000 at a Beverly Hills auction.
The Hermes Extraordinary Collection 30 cm diamond matte Himlayan Nilo crocodile Birkin bag is adorned with 245 diamonds and has 18-carat white gold hardware.
The purse, sold at Heritage Auctions, was part of a larger group of 480 of handbags from Hermès, Chanel, Louis Vuitton and other high-end designers.
The seller and buyer have chosen to remain anonymous.
The record for the most expensive purse sold was set in 2011 where another Birkin bag was bought for $203,000 in Dallas, Texas.
