Coachella is getting ready to kick off this weekend. Here's what to expect
The 2025 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is getting ready to kick off this weekend and some of music's biggest names are going to be headlining.
Lady Gaga, Green Day, Post Malone and Travis Scott are some of the performers that will be taking the stage in the desert.
Every year, the music festival attracts thousands of fans for two weekends in Southern California's Riverside County near Palm Springs.
In 2023, more than half a million people attended the festival, with more than 8 million mentions of it on social media platforms, according to InEvent, a software developer that tracks live events.
Although general admission passes for the first weekend, April 11-13, are already sold out, people can still buy VIP passes and passes for the second weekend, April 18-20.
There are many ways to get to Coachella, including driving, rideshare, shuttle buses and public transportation. Organizers advise people to limit driving and parking on the lot because of significant traffic delays.
English singer-songwriter FKA twigs announced last week she had to drop out of her Coachella performance due to visa issues.
The artist posted a message on X saying she was "devastated" by the news, but because of ongoing visa issues, she would not be able to attend the rest of her scheduled tour dates in North America or Coachella.
"It pains me to say this because i am so excited to bring you a creation that i have poured my soul into and i believe is amongst my strongest work and i know this news impacts so many of you that have already made plans and spent money in order to see these shows," she wrote.
How to stream the Coachella festival
Even if you can't make it out to the desert and bear the heat, you can watch Coachella from your house.
Coachella 2025 can be streamed on YouTube or on the Coachella livestream app. Using the app, viewers can access the full livestream schedule and set reminders for performers.
