6 Injured After Passenger Van Overturns In Santa Clarita

SANTA CLARIA (CBS) — A large passenger van overturned Tuesday near Santa Clarita, resulting in six injuries, some of them serious, authorities said.

Paramedics were sent to Vasquez Canyon Road near Mystery Mesa Drive at 1:10 p.m., according to Inspector Matt Levesque of the county fire department.

Authorities said at least two patients were airlifted for hospital treatment. The other four patients were transported by ambulance.

Levesque said the van was believed to be associated with a movie production in the area. Vasquez Rocks is often used for films because of its reddish rock formations.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
