50th Annual Historic Home Tour, 9am

With a mission to highlight historically significant architecture of some of Sacramento’s most noteworthy historic homes and buildings, the 2026 Historic Home Tour will showcase six historic properties associated with the Old & New Washington School Historic Districts — one of which is the infamous F Street Boarding House that was home to Dorothea Puente who leased the home for about seven years and operated it as a boarding house until she was arrested for murdering nine of the lodgers in 1988. The current owners are generously opening their home while underscoring that The House is Innocent, a phrase that is on the exterior gate of the home and is the name of an award-winning documentary that highlights rehabilitation efforts by its new owners/stewards.
