Thank you Taro and Family!
I had the great honor to do a live feature with Taro Arai and his family. Taro's parents opened the first Mikuni restaurant on Hazel Avenue many years ago. In my segment called "Inside-A-Kitchen", Taro made breakfast his way while his mother made breakfast the traditional Japanese way. Ok, I tried both and she won! They invited cameraman Scott Holcombe and me to stay for breakfast and we enjoyed everything! Taro has written a new book called "Abundance: Finding the American Dream in a Japanese Kitchen!" which can be found at Borders. He will demo sushi and sign books next week at 7pm on December 21st at Folsom Borders on E. Bidwell and at 7pm on December 22nd at Roseville Borders on Douglas Blvd.. For more, visit the Mikuni website.
Big thank you's or rather big Arigato to Taro and to his sister Keiko for teaching me Japanese. Oishii so! That means it looks delicious! OISHII SOOOOOOOOOO! Here are some pics. Tina
