Should Passing A Personality Test Be A Job Requirement?
Online tests at companies have risen sharply in the last 10 years as employers seek to make the hiring process easier, and find the perfect employees.
Job candidates are being tested for personality, skills, cognitive abilities and other traits. Sixty to 70 percent of prospective workers in the U.S. have been tested, Yahoo Finance reports. That's up from 30 to 40 precent about five years ago, estimates Josh Bersin, of consulting firm Bersin by Deloitte, a unit of auditor Deloitte LLP.
And testing has become big business. It now generates $500 million annually and continues to increase with double-digit growth.
The rise of personality tests has sparked some criticism over its fairness and accuracy, causing some companies to scale back.
What do you think? Are workplace personality tests fair?
