Reports: California Woman Facing Terminal Cancer Dies

PORTLAND, Ore. (CBS13/AP) – The terminally ill California woman who moved to Oregon to take her own life under the state's assisted suicide law has died, according to reports.

People Magazine reported Sunday that Maynard wrote in Facebook post: "Goodbye to all my dear friends and family that I love. Today is the day I have chosen to pass away with dignity in the face of my terminal illness."

Maynard released a new video this week, saying that she was possibly considering pushing back the date she would take her life. She had originally announced she would take her own life on Nov. 1.

"I still feel good enough, and I still have enough joy – and I still laugh and smile with my friends and my family enough – that it doesn't seem like the right time right now," she said in the video.

The 29-year-old decided earlier this year to put an end to her own life after learning she was suffering from terminal brain cancer. Her doctor only gave her six months to live.
