Picture Journal

It seems I love to take pictures everywhere I go.  My family and friends know I like to take pictures of their meals when we go out to eat.  I take pictures of events I want to remember and share or just of things that make me laugh!  So, this is my Picture Journal of what's been going on in my life.  Tina

State Fair - I've been judging the Chef Competition and also the Firefighers Cooking Challenge.  The finals for both is on the last day of the fair, Sunday, August 1, 2010.  Come by the Expo Center Buildings in #2 - California Foodstyle starting at 11am.  This past Saturday, the family went to have some fun at the fair.  I took this pic of the big ferris wheel all lit up.  Carina had her first carnival win - a tank of goldfish - by throwing the ping pong ball into the top bowl of water.  So fun to watch!  She was shocked and then realized she really won!  So funny with everyone screaming!

Pink Guitar - Local Roseville's Buljan Middle School teacher Duane Calkins made a pink guitar and donated it on my behalf so I've chosen to donate it to the Blues for Life event this October 3rd.  It takes place at The Torch Club in Sacramento.  The pink guitar will be a silent auction item for the Albie Aware Breast Cancer Foundation fundraiser.  I've been getting autographs on it including Rick Springfield when he was at the fair.  CBS 13's Kris Pickel is in the picture with Rick (thanks to Kris and her husband Carl for that!).  Thanks to Cory in the media center for helping with Rick's autograph and for also getting Martina McBride to sign it!  David Hasselhoff signed it awhile back in studio.  So, mark your calendar for October 3 and come to Blues for Life!  There will also be a pasta contest featuring chefs and celebrities teaming up.  I'm partnered up with House Restaurant owner Chris Nestor.  Looking forward to the event!

Pancake Circus - My family met for breakfast at Pancake Circus over the weekend and had such a fun time.  We sat in Terri''s section and what a hoot she is!  Everytime she came by our table to check on us, she would hear bits and pieces of our conversation and start laughing.  Good times!  My brother Bud and I are posing with Terri in the picture below.  Pancake Circus is also holding a spaghetti dinner fundraiser for the family of CHP Officer Justin McGrory.  Justin died in a car crash recently while patrolling in San Bernardino and leaves his wife and 4 children including a new baby that was born last week.  His mother was once a waitress at Pancake Circus so the staff hopes you can attend. The spaghetti dinner is on August 7, 2010 from 5pm - 8pm and tickets are $10 at Pancake Circus on Broadway/21st in Sacramento.
