Helping Baby Elle

I recently learned about this sad but inspiring story. Baby Elle was born with a rare disease known as Epidemolysis Bullosa.   She has the most extreme form of this terrible disease, which means that even the gentlest touch will blister her skin.  This happens to her not only externally, but internally as well.  She suffers extreme pain daily. Her aunt tells me that something as joyful and ordinary as giving Elle baths can be a four hour process. The disease is often called the butterfly disease because her skin as as thin as that of a butterfly's wings.  Baby Elle and her parents are getting ready to take part in a  clinical trial at University of Minnesota Medical Center, the only hospital in the country currently doing research for a cure. Finding a cure and treating Elle has become a huge financial strain for the Pop family. Recently, the Fair Oaks community came together for "A Day in the Park" event to raise money for the Pop family. Thursday, July 29th you can attend the 7:05pm River Cats game and help raise money for Elle.  Elle is going through so much in her short life. But on a positive note, she has the support of many family and friends.

We'll keep Baby Elle in our prayers!
