KEMP (CBS 11 NEWS) - After initially saying he would release the dash camera video Monday afternoon of what police describe as a high-speed chase involving Plano West High School football star Sotonye "Soso" Jamabo, Kemp Police Chief Robert Walker said his department will not release it.

The police chief said after a discussion with the Kaufman County District Attorney's Office, he would no longer be releasing any information on the case.

The Kemp Police Department will turn over its investigation to the district attorney's office this week. Walker said it will be up to the district attorney's office as to if and when the video would be released.

Jamabo, an 18-year-old highly-touted UCLA recruit, faces a state felony charge of evading arrest.

According to police, Jamabo failed to stop when an officer tried to pull him over for speeding in the small town of Kemp, just east of Dallas. Chief Walker said the pursuit lasted around five minutes, during which occupants began throwing objects out the windows of the pickup truck.

Jamabo eventually pulled over and exited the truck as instructed by the officer, according to police. The three other teenagers inside the pick-up were cited for possession and consumption of alcohol by a minor and released by police.

Jamabo was booked into the Kaufman County Jail for evading arrest. He posted a $7,500 bond Sunday afternoon.

Online county jail records on Sunday showed Jamabo faced multiple other charges, including consumption of alcohol by a minor. However, Walker said those listed charges were actually "roadside warnings." Jamabo only faces the single state felony Evading Arrest charge.

Jamabo's family declined to comment.

In a statement released by the UCLA athletic department on Sunday, the university stated it was, "obviously concerned about these reports and are currently gathering more information."
