Tow Trucks Staying Busy In Snowy Weather

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – When the roads are a mess and accident counts are up, it's big business for tow truck companies.

All across North Texas on Friday, the crashes piled up as the snow came down. At one point, one tow truck company told CBS 11's Robbie Owens that it was taking two-three hours to get trucks to accident scenes. Part of the problem, the trucks were having to work their way through the same traffic jams that they were trying to help clear.

Plus another problem.

"It's very dangerous because a lot of people cut us off …and we're trying to get to the wrecks to get the traffic going again," said David Huerta of Express Towing.

As one driver said, they want to get home to their families as well, so please, when you see them, slow down, let them in, so they can get those wrecks cleared as quickly as they can.
