Texas Rangers Investigating After Tarrant County Inmate Dies At Hospital

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - The Tarrant County Sheriff's Office confirmed an inmate died at John Peter Smith Hospital on Monday, Dec. 7.

The inmate had been in the hospital since Nov. 24.

The Sheriff's Office did not say why the inmate was hospitalized, but did say the inmate's death was not related to COVID-19.

The Texas Rangers are investigating which is standard procedure for in-custody deaths, the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office said.
