Tasha's To Do List: Feb. 19-22

KRLD -- There's a lot happening across North Texas this weekend! From concerts to comedy to monster trucks, KRLD's Tasha Stevens fills you in!

-- We're still in the icy clutches of winter. Lucky for us, it is Penguin Days at the Dallas Zoo. Throughout February, you can visit the African penguins (and all the other animals) for just $5 per person.

-- The International Exhibition of Sherlock Holmes is happening now through May 10 at the Perot Museum of Nature and Science. On display will be an original manuscript, letters and illustrations which will show the experiences that influenced Sir Arthur Conan Doyle in creating Sherlock Holmes.

-- Also at the Perot Museum, Tornado Alley 3D, a 20-minute film that will get you up close and personal with these forces of nature. You'll experience a tornado's destructive power at point blank range.

-- If you love animation and more importantly Bugs Bunny, you must see "What's Up Doc? The Animation Art of Chuck Jones" exhibit now through April 26 at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History. This Smithsonian traveling exhibition features the work of animator and artist Charles Martin "Chuck" Jones, who created iconic characters like Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Elmer Fudd, Pepé Le Pew, Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner.

-- Artists for Animals is happening Saturday at Addison Conference Center. This is a unique event with a concert, animal photography, art, wine, dessert and even free puppy kisses. All proceeds benefit Operation Kindness, north Texas largest no-kill shelter.

-- The guy is a musician's musician, known for playing most of the instruments on his records. See Pete Yorn at the Kessler Thursday night.

-- Ready for some pillaging? Check out Thursday night's season premiere of Vikings on the History Channel.

-- Round up the kiddos. It is Sesame Street Live: Let's Dance! Time at the Verizon Friday through Sunday.

-- If you think you have it hard now fixing supper after working all day, trying pulling a meal together back in the day. The Frugal Farm Wife event at Nash Farm will teach the life skills important to a Texas farm in the 19th century. You'll see seasonal chores undertaken using tools and techniques of the era such as sewing, spinning, dying, cooking, washing, gardening, harvesting, preserving, and candle making.

-- This weekend, you can find the perfect home away from home on wheels. The 25th Annual Dallas RV Supersale at Dallas Market Hall runs Thursday through Sunday with hundreds of RVs from 16 local dealers filling more than 350,000 square feet of exhibit space.

-- Tonight at Angelika Film Center & Cafe in Plano, see the winner of 3 Academy Awards including Best Picture in what has to be one of the best American films ever made -- and one of my favorite movies of all time. In honor of the upcoming Academy Awards this weekend, see tonight's Oscar Classics: The Godfather.

-- They just killed off his character on Criminal Minds, which was interesting because he hasn't been on the show for a few years. Doesn't matter. You can see him in the flesh in seven performances Thursday through Sunday. See Mandy Patinkin and Taylor Mac in "The Last Two People on Earth: An Apocalyptic Vaudeville" at the Eisemann Center.

-- You've seen this show before, but this is a new version. The revamped version of the Odd Couple features Matthew Perry of Friends fame as the slob Oscar. Check out the series premier tonight on CBS.

-- At the same time, CBS is saying goodbye to Two and a Half Men after a 12 season run. Word is that Charlie Sheen might possibly make an appearance. See it Thursday night.

-- This cartoon version of this story is probably the reason I have a thing for pigs to this day. Check out Charlotte's Web at Casa Manana Friday through Sunday.

-- I love this dude and I love his tweets on Twitter. See The Charlie Daniels Band Live at Billy Bob's Recording Friday night. Mind your manners ya'll. They are taping this thing.

-- Five-time GRAMMY winner, New York Times bestselling author and shoe designer of "Got Soul" Wynonna Judd doing her thing Friday night at Arlington Music Hall.

-- Over at Cowtown Coliseum, it is The American Semi-Finals Rodeo this weekend. Winners of RFD-TV's "The American" three night semifinal competition will advance to compete at The American finals at AT&T Stadium on March 1, 2015.

-- Dallas Symphony Orchestra celebrates a part of our childhood this weekend. See Disney in Concert at the Meyerson Symphony Center Friday through Sunday.

-- Pauly Shore of MTV fame is doing the stand-up thing at the Addison Improv Friday and Saturday night.

-- You have seen this extremely funny guy in a bunch of things: Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo, Scary Movie 3 -- and my favorite -- the lead role in Undercover Brother. See Eddie Griffin at the Arlington Improv Friday and Saturday night.

-- Saturday, Saturday, Saturday -- it is Monster Jam time at AT&T Stadium!

-- If you want to know what Texas sounds like, look no further than this band. Check out Asleep at the Wheel Friday at the Kessler.

-- The Singing Cadets are doing their thing at Dallas City Performance Hall Friday night. They are a big deal. They are internationally known as the "Voice of Aggieland" -- they are Texas A&M's premier men's chorus.

-- At the OTHER end of the spectrum, you can check out the Monsters of Mock at the Gas Monkey Bar and Grill Saturday night. This thing will have a slew of tribute bands-- Guns For Roses, Def Legend, Kill'Em All, Walk This Way and Worlds Apart.

-- And don't get too torn up Saturday night. You have to be back at Gas Monkey Bar and Grill Sunday night for 80's greatness "Dangerous Toys".

-- A lot of people dig these guys, but the band Chicago probably isn't on that list. 1982's Abracadabra album gave this band its third Number One with the title track pushing Chicago's "Hard to Say I'm Sorry" out of the #1 spot, just as his "Rock'n Me" knocked Chicago's "If You Leave Me Now" out of the #1 spot in 1976.
