Student At O.D. Wyatt High School Stabbed 4 Times

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - Officials with the Fort Worth Independent School District have confirmed to CBSDFW that a 17-year-old student at O.D. Wyatt High School has been stabbed by another student who is 15 years old.
The incident happened after two girls began fighting in the gymnasium. At some point, a female 10th grade student pulled out a 2-and-a-half-inch pocket knife and stabbed a female 11th grade student four times in the upper body.
The injured teenager was rushed by MedStar ground ambulance to John Peter Smith Hospital. Fort Worth Police say her injuries are serious but not life-threatening.
The 17-year-old will receive some stitches and be watched over night before being released tomorrow according to FWISD spokesperson Clint Bond.
The 15-year-old was arrested by the school resource officer for aggravated assault and taken to the Juvenile Detention Center.
Clint Bond says the school does have metal detectors that they use frequently but not every day.
