Southlake Firefighters Kick Off "Fill the Boot" Campaign

SOUTHLAKE (CBSDFW.COM) - Southlake firefighters spent Tuesday morning battling something other than flames.

A group of firemen gathered at the intersection of Southlake Blvd. and Kimball Ave. to collect money to fight muscular dystrophy.

For the fifth year in a row, Southlake firefighters are participating in the "Fill the Boot" campaign to support and raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Southlake firefighters will be out collecting donations at the following times & locations:

06/22 - Southlake Blvd. @ Kimball Ave. - 7am - 11am
06/23 - Southlake Blvd. @ Carroll Ave. - 7am - 11am
06/28 - Southlake Blvd. @ Peytonville Ave. - 7am - 11am
06/29 - Southlake Blvd. @ White Chapel Blvd. - 7am - 11am
06/30 - Continental Blvd @ Davis Blvd. - 7am - 11am

All the donations go toward the 2011 MDA Labor Day Telethon, which will be broadcast on TXA 21 on Sunday, September 4, from 5 p.m. to Midnight.

MDA is the nonprofit health agency dedicated to curing muscular dystrophy, ALS and related diseases by funding worldwide research.
