TARRANT COUNTY (CBSDFW.COM) - Child Protective Services (CPS) has now become involved in the case of a Grapevine police officer arrested on child pornography charges.

For now, Officer Philip Woolery's son has been placed in CPS custody.

"Mr. Woolery's 12-year-old son is in foster care right now," CPS spokeswoman Marissa Gonzales explained. "He's doing well and we're hoping to find a relative that can take care of him, but in the meantime he'll be with a foster family."

Gonzales said the ideal situation would be to verify that the boy hasn't been harmed and place him in the care of a relative. "That's something that we're working on right now. Of course, part of the investigation will [also] be to determine whether or not there was any abuse or neglect occurring in the home."

Philip Woolery was arrested after U.S. Postal Inspectors seized a DVD set he ordered through the mail. Parts of the video reportedly consisted of naked boys jumping on an air mattress.

Calling Woolery a flight risk and danger to the community, a federal judge in Fort Worth denied the 46-year-old's bail.

Officially the Grapevine Police Department has placed Woolery, a 17-year veteran, on administrative leave. If convicted he faces up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
