NORTH TEXAS (CBSDFW.COM) - The investigation into fitness instructor Terri "Missy" Bevers' murder continues, and with it the pain and utter shock of how someone could have killed her.

Bevers' mother-in-law Marsha Essary Tucker penned a letter to the mother of three's killer, and posted it on Facebook this weekend.

According to a search warrant, Bevers died from a head wound Monday morning, April 18, 2016 when a suspect used an unknown instrument to strike her down. Her body was discovered inside of Creekside Church in Midlothian.

Bevers was getting ready to lead a 5 a.m. boot camp class at the church. Authorities stated that the murderer broke into the building before Bevers arrived, assaulted the 45-year-old woman and left her unresponsive on the ground. Surveillance video shows the suspect wandering the halls of the church dressed head-to-toe in police SWAT gear. The killer had so much clothing on that authorities have not even been able to identify the individual's gender.

The motive behind the attack remains unclear. Police first said that Bevers may have interrupted a burglary, but that has been called into question. Some clues have even indicated that this may have been a targeted attack. Bevers had advertised the date, time and location of her class online.

This was the first murder in Midlothian in the past seven years. Oak Farms Dairy is offering a $10,000 reward for information that leads to the suspect's arrest and indictment. Since the surveillance video was released, authorities have gotten several tips. The FBI is also assisting with the investigation.
