7-Year-Old North Texan Noticed For Musical Skills

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS (CBSDFW.COM) - Logan "Robot" Gladden. You'll want to remember that name. He's only seven and in the first grade, but you wouldn't know it if you heard him play the drums.

It took about a year to figure out Logan Gladden had a knack for music - the year he was born. Logan couldn't even pronounce his name yet, which is how he picked up the nickname "Robot." He prefers it now because it sounds like a good name for a drummer.

Kiss fans may already know "Robot." He's featured, in full Kiss costume, on Kiss' own website.

Logan says he thinks God made him a drummer, "just because I was banging around on things."

"God just says if he doesn't get a full drum set or anything he'll just be banging on everything his (whole) life," Logan added.

There have been more than a few comparisons to Justin Bieber, who was seen at the age of nine on a YouTube video banging out a drum solo.

Logan hasn't met Bieber. But he has met many other famous musicians. His parents have taken him to 75 concerts.

"I always say to myself I always want to be a rock star when I grow up but I probably am a rock star," Logan said.

His fans think so. He was mobbed after his kindergarten talent show.

But Logan doesn't want to be known as just a drummer. He sings and is learning to play the keyboards too. Which is why no one should be surprised when Logan "Robot" Gladden rocks it to the top of the charts one day.

Logan's father made sure to videotape his son's performances along the way. There's a compilation on Logan's newly launched website, where you can also follow him on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.
