Partnership Between Bishop Arts Businesses Helps Catch A Thief

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) -  People who work in the Bishop Arts District are celebrating their efforts to catch a thief.

They put images taken from security cameras on their Facebook pages and an unidentified person provided police with the tip they needed to make an arrest.

Two restaurants, Soli's New York Pizza and Lockhart Barbecue, were hit the same day by a burglar.

After seeing the security camera video on CBS 11 News, the owner of a manufacturing plant in Irving said his business was also burglarized two days earlier.

Dallas Police arrested Mark Larance Rios and he is being held in connection with all three break-ins.

To celebrate Lockhart Smoke House donated brisket for a special one-day pizza at Zoli's they called "Neighborhood Watch."

"Pizza was great. I think it was a successful collaboration as well, you know. Everything kind of turned out well," says patron Dr. Patrick McCabe.

Another patron, Keli Hawthorne agrees, and is glad that Social Media helped arrest the man suspected of burglarizing on of her favorite hangouts.

"Well social media now, you can't get away with anything. So the criminals better just watch out because everybody's watching."

The restaurant managers that led this Facebook campaign say they've benefited in other ways.

They bonded as neighbors and they're even more dedicated to taking care of each other.

"We're going to fix everything that he broke and that he took and we're going to keep plugging along and making pizza," says Zoli's New York Pizza manger Britt Chapman.
