Mother, Son Jailed In South Texas For Allegedly Laundering Money Inside Packages Of Tamales

KLEBERG COUNTY, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) - A mother and son are in jail in South Texas accused of laundering money inside packages of tamales.

Kleberg County deputies found small wraps of aluminum foil during a traffic stop in Riviera, just south of Corpus Christi.

Inside the tamale packages, they found $200,000 in cash.

Authorities said Lori Salazar, 53 and Daniel Salazar, 34, were heading from Houston to Mexico with the cash.
