ADDISON (CBSDFW.COM) – A local Marine veteran is out to break yet another world record in the name of fellow veterans.

Guy Valentino, who served a tour in Iraq suffered traumatic brain injuries as a result of explosions while on deployment.

After being treated for his injuries, he became an advocate for veteran health issues.

Valentino decided to start breaking records of physical challenges to spread awareness for veterans who are suffering.

Last year in November he broke the record for most pull-ups in a day. "I did 5,862 in 24 hours," says Valentino.

This year he is attempting to break another record. He plans on setting a new world record for most tire flips in a 1-mile course, and he plans on doing it in New York City along the Veterans Day Parade route on November 11th.

Valentino added, "I'm excited. I really want to bring more awareness to veterans who are suffering."

The tire he will be flipping weighs about 219 pounds and is about four feet tall.

Valentino will be flipping it end over end through the streets of Manhattan with a representative from the Guinness World Records documenting every single flip.

When asked about what kind of message he hopes to send with this record breaking attempt, the former Marine said, "I'm talking to any veteran who is watching this right now. Get up off the couch and belief in yourself as you once did when you graduated boot camp."
