DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - A Dallas tour operator is taking flak for what some consider going too far for publicity.

Ricardo Hernandez said he made this cutout of Lee Harvey Oswald to take Oswald's old apartment site as part of a tour.

But first, Hernandez propped it up against a tree about 50 yards from the JFK memorial.

When a JFK historian saw it, he posted it on Facebook and folks responded with disgust.

"The whole idea of a memorial is to pay respect. And at a site of a memorial you don't expect to see a cardboard cutout of the alleged assassin holding the rifle that was attributed to killing the President," said Farris Rookstool III, who took the above picture.

The tour operator who left it by the memorial for a couple of hours told CBS 11 that he hadn't heard of any complaints.
