Speak Your Mind To CBS 11 & TXA 21
There is an episode of Dragnet from the 1968-1969 season (3pm weekdays on MeTV, KTXA 21.2) where Los Angeles Police Officer Sgt. Joe Friday and Officer Bill Gannon are asked to appear on a local LA talk show called, "Speak Your Mind" where the audience gets to ask them and other panelists questions ranging from police brutality to marijuana use. Friday and Gannon get grilled pretty bad but are able to handle the heat.
Well, this week, you really spoke your mind to us about various things…with a little heat toward us!
The two big subject areas this week were concerns about our Texas Rangers broadcasts and the graphics being cropped off on the sides, and the other was a flurry of emails about our news talent on CBS11.
On our Rangers games, KTXA broadcasts the games in HD with the production done in HD by FOX Sports Net Southwest.
They are delivered to us with a 16:9 aspect ratio which basically means that the picture width is almost twice its height. Most HD digital sets can be adjusted for 16x9. If you have a HD set and receive KTXA's HD digital signal either over the air or via our HD signal on cable or satellite, you should have no cropping of the graphics (scoreboard and/or pitch count). But you have to have these components. If you watch the games on an old analog set, the graphics will be cropped off. If you watch the games on an digital set via cable, satellite or fiber optics, but with a downconverted signal to SD, the graphics will be cropped off.

Now I won't address specific items for specific people here, but you let us know how you liked one of anchor's hair, the on-air performance of our talent , and why certain people were or were not on the air when you expecting to see them. I like getting these the most because it tells me you care!
