FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM/AP) — A Fort Worth police captain has surrendered on a warrant issued in connection with an alleged domestic disturbance last month.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports jail records show Capt. Duane Paul did a "walk-through" at the Tarrant County Jail on Friday morning, turning himself in on a warrant for assault with bodily injury of a family member and immediately posting bond.

The department had temporarily relieved him of command and police powers after officers were summoned to his Fort Worth home on Nov. 21 on allegations he assaulted a family member. Paul's wife told officers he choked, scratched and pushed her, according to a police report.

Police had declined to release specific information about the allegations. A police report on the incident remained unavailable Friday.

A home phone number for Paul could not be found. Paul didn't make a statement or say anything discernible to CBS 11 News as he and his lawyer walked into the jail.

Paul was demoted several years ago after appearing on an episode of the Dallas-based reality show "Cheaters."
