Betsy Price Makes History To Become Fort Worth Mayor For 5th Term

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - Betsy Price has become the longest serving mayor in Fort Worth history by being re-elected to a fifth term on Saturday night.

With 99 out of 106 precincts reporting (94 percent), Price leads Tarrant County Democratic Party Chair Deborah Peoples 56-42 percent.

Price said Saturday night, "I'm very excited.  I'm very pleased.  We've worked hard on this race and it shows. We're thrilled to have the trust of the citizens of Fort Worth another two years."

Peoples attracted Democratic presidential candidates to help her try to unseat Price.

Peoples said residents she has spoken with are frustrated and believe city leaders aren't listening to them.
