Former High School QB Indicted On Felony Charges
DENTON COUNTY (CBSDFW.COM) - Arson, burglary and animal cruelty indictments have been returned against former Krum High School quarterback William "Caz" Wojciak.
The 18-year-old is accused of setting fire to a school board trustee's home in October during a burglary. Investigators think Wojciak also poured a flammable liquid on the family dog, then set it on fire. The dog had to be euthanized because of the burns.
Investigators believe Wocjiak burned Donna Hooper's home as a favor to a friend who had once dated her daughter.
"The relationship, my understanding, that had gone bad…had to do with one of Wojiack's friends. He was assisting him in some form or fashion in that matter," said Denton County Sheriff Chief Randy Plemons.
That friend was arrested on a drug charge, but has not been accused in the arson case. However, more arrests are possible as the investigation continues.
Wojciak is jailed in Denton County. Bond has been set at more than 900-thousand dollars.
