Female TABC Agent Sues Agency, Claiming Harassment

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM/AP) -- A female agent with Texas' liquor control board has filed a federal lawsuit claiming her male colleagues repeatedly harassed her through physically demeaning and verbally abusive behavior.

Leigh Sosebee's lawsuit against the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission is the latest twist in a matter that agency records show has already resulted in disciplinary action against six officers and agents.

The 28-year-old woman seeks unspecified damages from the agency where she has worked since 2007. She alleges the sexual harassment and retaliation started in the Dallas office and continued even after she went to work elsewhere.

The lawsuit was filed in September in Dallas. It follows a series of other episodes that cast an unfavorable light on the agency that regulates the sale of alcohol in the state, including a 2009 raid on the Rainbow Lounge, a gay bar in Fort Worth.  Click here for more on that story.
