Family & Friends Having Vigil For Missing Hurst Grandmother

HURST (CBSDFW.COM) -While there is no rain in the forecast today, recent North Texas flooding is now impacting the search for a missing Hurst grandmother. Norma Shultz was last seen more than a month ago and now police are trying to determine if her disappearance was foul play.
Volunteers with Houston-based Texas EquuSearch were supposed to be on the Trinity River, using sonar equipment and looking for clues, but high water levels have made that impossible. Workers with the group promise he search will happen, but most likely not unil sometime next week,
Prayers and hopes for the best continue as family and friends get ready for an evening vigil.
Thursday morning search crews were focused near the Trinity looking for 72-year-old woman. To be exact, Shultz was last seen on May 19, but her husband didn't report her missing until several days later.
Since vanishing Shultz has missed high school graduations and family functions.
While the grandmother's van is still parked in the driveway, her daughter says she knows something is wrong because her mom isn't returning text messages or phone calls.
Police admit something doesn't add up but say one of the reasons they don't have any suspects is because they can't even confirm that a crime has been committed.
Family and friends are hoping a billboard put up in Haltom City will lead to police tips.
A news crew tried to talk to Shultz's husband, but couldn't reach him. An attorney representing the man has yet to respond to our phone messages.
The Thursday prayer vigil will be held at St. Paul United Methodist Church, located at 852 W. Bedford Euless Road in Hurst. The event is from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m.
