Dallas Opera Coming To Cowboys Stadium
ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) - They said it could never happen. Can you get football fans out to see an opera? Or opera fans out to a football stadium? Well, the naysayers are shaking their heads now, because the first ever partnership between the Dallas Opera and the Dallas Cowboys Organization has resulted in what promises to be a spectacular simulcast this Saturday night.
Mozart's beloved (and viewer friendly, for non-opera fans) "The Magic Flute" will be performed on the Winspear Opera stage for the usual 2,000+ patrons dressed to the nines. A few miles away, over 30,000+ fans will be sitting in the massive Cowboys Stadium enjoying the same performance wearing whatever they choose! Tony Romo jerseys? Sure! Sweatpants and T-shirts? Sure!
It's the perfect way to experience the drama and majesty of a very intimidating artform, without all the pomp and circumstance of sitting in an intimate opera house setting.

Tickets started moving immediately when first announced and, at this point, just under 2,000 seats are still available. Both executives from the Opera and Cowboys are excited for this debut of synergy between the arts, and one of the most impressive -- and now world famous -- sports facilities. It's win/win!
Brett Daniels from the Cowboys Organization said that he hopes Opera fans will return for Cowboys games, and Cowboys fans might become Opera fans!
Doors at Cowboys Stadium open at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday night, with the performance beginning an hour later. It might be fun to treat yourself to champagne and strawberries for tailgating at this visit to Jerry's House, given the entertainment. But then again, please feel free to order beer and hot dogs, too!
