Dallas Cowboys Accelerate Homework On Ohio State Prospects

IRVING (105.3 THE FAN) - The Dallas Cowboys have a pivotal spot in the first round of the upcoming NFL Draft and have spent considerable time in a pivotal spot on the football map: Columbus, Ohio.

A handful of Cowboys staffers were on the Ohio State campus on Wednesday for yet another close look at prospects like defensive end Joey Bosa and running back Ezekiel Elliott, both of whom may be worthy of the No. 4 overall pick.

Two weeks ago, coach Jason Garrett and his staff conducted a private workout on the Buckeyes campus, with Bosa and Elliott joined by other prospects including receiver Braxton Miller and quarterback Cradle Jones.

And this week at Valley Ranch for the 30 Visits? It's back to Bosa and Elliott, who are getting to know the Valley Ranch lay of the land.

There are no guarantees here, and it's always safe to bet that the fertile rosters of places like Ohio State and Alabama are likely to produce NFL talent. But whatever Dallas does with Buckeyes in the first round and beyond will be the result of a great volume of homework.
