Best Bar Food In Dallas

A bar should focus more on its drink specials and its draft beer selection than food. And the dining experience at a bar should not overshadow its socially-centered atmosphere. If food is more appealing sitting at the bar, watching the game on television and chatting up the bartender, it is a good sign you're at the right place. - By Caodan Tran, Dallas food blogger

The giant patio is lined with picnic tables and gravel and makes the bar interior look small. The good thing: the affordable menu and assortment of options takes standard bar food to another level. They offer $1 tacos on Monday and half priced burgers on Tuesday, with a fulfilling amount of flavor. The drinks are cheap, and the company plentiful.

The Libertine is one long, amusing hallway. When first entering, it almost feels like walking down a railroad car. The steak burger is a staple and usually graces tables throughout the bar. Cheese boards are a popular item to share. Half priced food on Tuesday draws in a large number of diners. The Libertine has a good selection of beer and offers monthly beer dinners, which pair five beers with five plates of food.

The main attractions at Barcadia are giant Jenga, the life-sized Connect Four, and old school arcade games. The menu – or the fact there even is one – is overlooked and ignored most of the time. But when it is finally glanced at, it surprises in the best way. There are appetizers, soups and salads, and sandwiches to choose from. Many of the menu items are reminiscent of state fair food, but there are pseudo healthy options as well. Dog the Bounty is their kosher hot dog and lets the diner add chili, cheese, jalapenos, sauerkraut, tomato or onion.

The Meridian Room

3611 Parry Avenue
Dallas, TX 75226

The Meridian Room is across from Fair Park, and scattered with musicians and city-dwelling families. It's mainly a bar in the midst of other watering holes and random shops, so the quality of their food comes as a pleasant shock. The tuna is cooked to high standard and built into a tuna steak burger. Smoked salmon and the always popular cheese plate is the best way to warm up to a night of responsible drinking or as a snack before diving into the sights of Exposition Park. Half priced food on Wednesday is a well-liked incentive to check out the staple bar's menu.
