DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Like many good and not-so-good ideas, this one started over a pint.
Some bearded and bellied brewers from across North Texas are stripping down to create a calendar for a good cause. Sales will help the National Multiple Sclerosis Society according to calendar creator, Danny Woods of Dirtbag Charities.
"If you can make beer, why not make beer for a good cause," said Woods.
"All these brewers getting scantily clad. And then is actually happened and it was like, this is great dude, " said Jeff Fryman of Braindead Brewing on Main Street in Deep Ellum.
"All of a sudden we get here with the photographer and he's like, take off your shirt, I've got the baby oil. There were some things left out of the original agreement," said Sam Wynne, also of Braindead Brewing.
Twelve scenes of barley-chiseled, ale-soaking, lager-lounging hop hunks fermented from five of the maltiest breweries in Dallas-Fort Worth.
"There's plenty of puppies and kitties and nice cars and beautiful woman and good-looking dudes. There's not enough chest hair and beer-belly's out there," said Wynne. "We're at least wearing underwear."
As funny as the pictures are that taken in the breweries, the photo shoot goes beyond just a good laugh.
"We do our own thing. We appeal to this community and we bring in more money," said Woods.
