CORPUS CHRISTI (CBSDFW.COM/AP) — Former "The Price is Right" host Bob Barker will return to a Texas military installation where he became a Navy fighter pilot to help celebrate its 75th anniversary.

Naval Air Station Corpus Christi on Thursday announced the 92-year-old Barker will be the guest speaker at its March 12 celebration.

The Navy installation has supported pilot training and operations since opening in 1941. A Naval Air Station Corpus Christi statement says Barker became an aviator and earned his wings on December 6, 1944. He achieved a lieutenant junior grade rank.

The news of Barker's Texas visit comes as crews begin repairing the sidewalk outside his Hollywood home. the former game show host tripped and fell on the sidewalk in October and suffered cuts to his head.

Barker said he hopes this means he will never fall on the sidewalk again. "I'm gonna walk up to where it's been repaired and back to where it's been repaired. It's been like a century... right in front of my own home. Because the sidewalks around here are in terrible shape."

Barker began hosting "The Price is Right" in 1972. He retired from the game show in 2007.
