70-Year-Old Man Brutally Attacked Outside Popular Dallas Restaurant

DALLAS, Texas (CBS 11 NEWS) - A North Texas family is hoping someone will come forward with information after a brutal attack in a restaurant parking that left a 70-year-old man in critical condition.

Lou Rocha Sr. is as much a part of the M Streets neighborhood of Dallas as the restaurant he loved to visit.

"My dad was very well known," said Lou Rocha Jr. "Been around the neighborhood, helped raise many of the kids in the neighborhood that were kind of less fortunate as we were growing up. You know, just a real father figure to everybody."

Sunday night, around 9:00 p.m. as Rocha Sr. was walking back to his vehicle after picking up a pizza to go at the popular Campisi's Italian Restaurant Mockingbird Lane location, he was brutally attacked and left for dead.

A customer found Rocha Sr. lying in a pool of blood in the parking lot and called police.

Rocha was able to tell paramedics that he'd been attacked by three men, before he lost consciousness.

Rocha Jr. said his father's injuries are so brutal , they've left him virtually unrecognizable.

"Head injuries from the back all the way to the front. He's going to have facial reconstructive surgery. His ribs are broken, his arms are broken," Rocha Jr. said.

So far Dallas Police have few leads and no suspect information. Though the police report classified the attacked as an aggravated robbery, the motive is unclear.

"Nothing was stolen. His ipod was left laying there in his seat, car wide open. Navigator and keys laying there. Wallet wasn't touched. No money was touched," said Rocha Jr.

Now the family is praying not only for justice but also that this Army veteran survives the vicious attack.

"Very critical. He's in the ICU," Rocha Jr. said. "At this moment we don't know whether or not he's going to make it."

If you have any information or saw this crime, call Dallas Police.

Campisi's had no comment.
