KAUFMAN COUNTY (CBSDFW.COM) - A 60-year-old North Texas woman is headed to prison for dealing drugs.

The trial of Deborah Peterson started last week. She was accused of being in possession of a significant amount of drugs near a school.

Peterson was charged last summer after a search of her home found more than 8 grams of methamphetamines and some $10,000 in cash.

Peterson's home, on State Street in Terrell, is less than a mile from the Terrell Independent School District Administrative Office and in a "Drug Free Zone."

At the time of her arrest last year Peterson was already on parole for previous drug convictions.

Facing a charge of Manufacture Delivery of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group One more than 4 Grams but under 200 Grams in a Drug Free Zone, Peterson's trial began May 14.

The 60-year-old woman was found guilty two days later and on May 17 was sentenced to 70 years in prison and a $20,000 fine.
