28 Charged In North Texas Workers' Compensation Fraud Case

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM/AP) — More than two dozen people face charges in a $9.5 million workers' compensation bogus billing investigation in North Texas.
Prosecutors in Dallas on Monday announced the scam involving some current or former U.S. Postal Service or Veterans Affairs employees who claimed to have been hurt at work. Investigators say several doctors and other medical personnel are among those charged.
Documents filed on behalf of the 28 defendants indicate all intend to plead guilty to federal counts related to bribery, health care fraud, unnecessary medical treatment, fraudulent billing or falsification of documents.

The suspects are from Dallas, DeSoto, Plano, Cedar Hill, Duncanville, Lancaster, Garland, Benbrook, Arlington, Carrollton, Duncanville and Mesquite.
