15 Arlington Police Placed On Leave Over Accuracy Of Reporting Traffic Stops

ARLINGTON (1080 KRLD) - The integrity of a small group of Arlington police officers is being called into question over the reporting of traffic stops.
The Arlington Police department says that 15 officers in question claimed to have conducted traffic stops that never happened.
The initial investigation shows that during these alleged traffic stops, no citizens were contacted and no tickets were issued.
The discrepancy was discovered during a routine random audit, which can involve reviewing digital video recordings.
"These allegations are serious and represent conduct that is not consistent with departmental expectations. I expect Arlington officers to perform their duties with the highest degree of personal integrity. We will investigate these allegations to determine the facts of this case," said Police Chief Will Johnson.
The 15 officers are on administrative leave while the department conducts its investigation.
According to police officials, the Tarrant County DA's Office has been notified of the investigation and they will share the outcome of the facts with the office once the investigation is completed to determine if criminal prosecution is warranted.
