Water line break affects service for some Harper Woods customers

An emergency water shutoff is affecting some water customers in the Wayne County community of Harper Woods, Michigan.

The city's Department of Public Safety issued the notice at 12:37 p.m., saying that customers on the even-numbered side of Beaconsfield between Kingsville and Washtenaw have no water service.

The interruption is because a contractor hit a line while working in the area.

Repairs have started on the water line break.
