Videos Show Craigslist Killer Preparing Michigan Home Before Slayings
WYOMING, Mich. (WWJ/AP) - Newly released videos show a 31-year-old man preparing his Wyoming, Michigan, home for a couple who he later killed.
Authorities say Brady Oestrike killed 25-year-old Charles Oppenneer and 18-year-old Brooke Slocum, who was eight months pregnant, in July 2014. Police said Slocum was strangled and Oppennee was decapitated, his headless body found in a park, after the couple had met up with Oestrike through the popular online classifies service Craigslist for a sexual encounter.
Oestrike fled when police tried to search his home, and then fatally shot himself as authorities pursued him. Slocum's body was then discovered in the trunk of Oestrike's car
The videos obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request were recorded in the days and hours leading up to the slayings from four surveillance cameras Oestrike set up around his home, in the Grand Rapids area.
The first video is dated July 5, 2014, the weekend before Oppenneer was killed and Slocum was abducted.

The video shows Oestrike hanging ropes from his basement ceiling and holding a whip. He also walks by with a chain and padlock and lays out undergarments.
Authorities said they believed Slocum was held captive for a time before her death.
