CBS DETROIT - As free agency rapidly approaches, the accolades for Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh continue to pile up, and the latest endorsement comes from former longtime general manager Bill Polian, who was inducted into the Hall of Fame in January.
Polian, in an article for the subscription site ESPN Insider, not only ranked Suh as the best player available but listed the four-time All-Pro in a class by himself. Polian designated a number of players as "A" or "A-minus," but Suh was the only one Polian qualified as "A-plus."
"Simply put, Suh is the best defensive tackle in the NFL," Polian wrote. "If not double-teamed, he will win virtually every time."
The Lions retain exclusive negotiating rights with Suh until Saturday, when any team can contact Suh's agent Jimmy Sexton and enter into contract talks. The earliest Suh could sign a deal with another team is Tuesday at 4 p.m., when 2014 player contracts expire and free agency officially begins.
