Report: Woman Made Up Story About Home Invasion, Assault
CLAY TOWNSHIP (WWJ) -- A woman who said she was tied up and assaulted during a home invasion made the whole story up, police say.
Police responded to a home on Nook Rd. in Clay Township on Friday night after a call for a welfare check and found the woman tied up on the floor.
She told police that she had been assaulted during a home invasion, but police now say that she admitted to making up the story, reports WXYZ.
The woman was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
There's no word yet if she will be facing any charges.
