RBD Creative Selects Detroit As Home for Corporate Offices
DETROIT -- There's been a lot of press lately about companies making commitments to the city of Detroit, from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Michigan to Quicken Loans.
But when RBD Creative, a marketing services company, needed more office space, they struggled with the decision.
"I really didn't want to leave the city of Detroit," RBD president Dorothy Twinney said. "This city is vibrant and there is so much about it that we love. But we needed a unique, historic space -- space that would enable our designers and writers to become even more creative than they already are."
The answer? The Carriage House behind Detroit's oldest building, the Charles C. Trowbridge House in the 1300 block of East Jefferson Avenue. The two-story building offered exactly what she and the team were seeking; approximately 2,400 square feet of eclectic, historic space.
One impetus for the additional space was the staff addition of Brian Townsend on Aug. 29. Townsend, a graduate of Wayne State, previously worked with Twinney at a creative agency. When he saw where RBD Creative was headed, he signed on to take part in what he felt was an inspiring, promising future.
"It's exciting," Twinney said. "We're building the best creative team I have ever worked with. Whether our client is just starting off in business or has a strong history, we know we can guide them with a strategic marketing plan focused on growth and good old- fashioned return on investment."
RBD Creative provides Web design, print design, search engine optimization, social media strategy, Google Earth services, QR code consulting and planning, trade show execution and public relations to myriad clients, including the Matt Prentice Restaurant Group, Alliance Benefit Group of Michigan, Genesis Genetics Institute, NBC Inc. and others.
"We have extraordinary businesses here in Detroit, and throughout Southeast Michigan," Twinney said. "It's an honor to be able to partner with them and serve their marketing and advertising needs. We couldn't be prouder to put our stake in the ground in such a vibrant area of downtown Detroit."
