Police Seek Suspect In Armed Robbery Outside Store In Detroit
DETROIT (WWJ) - Authorities are asking for help from the public identifying a suspect in connection with an armed robbery in Detroit.
On Saturday, June 11, around 6:30 p.m. in the 19400 block of Schoolcraft, a man armed with a gun robbed a 55-year-old woman of her purse.
The victim was leaving a store in the area, when she was approached by the suspect, who asked her if she wanted to buy a pair of sunglasses from him.
When she said 'no' the suspect pulled out a gun and took her purse.
The woman wasn't hurt in the incident.
Police are asking for help identifying the suspect who ran from the area.
He's described as a black man in his late teens to mid-20's, light complexion, 6'2", 150 pounds, brown eyes, short black, braided hair, a goatee, wearing a tank top and navy basketball shorts.
Police say the suspect should be considered armed and dangerous.
