NFL Teams That Were But Won't Be In The Playoffs
By: Dennis Fithian
It's a good bet that half the teams that made the NFL playoffs last year won't be back in this year's post season.
Two years ago in the NFC the Falcons, Packers, Bears, Eagles, Seahawks, and Rams qualified. In the AFC it was the Pats, Steelers, Ravens, Chiefs, Colts and Jets. This past year's playoffs had half of those teams, from the year before, three from each conference -- stayed at home. 2011 NFL Playoffs: Packers, 49ers, Lions, Saints, Giants, Falcons in the NFC. AFC Pats, Ravens, Bengals, Texans, Steelers, Broncos. Who will be the six in and six out this year if the trend holds? Tough to pick against GB, SF and Atl in the NFC winning their divisions and getting in the playoffs again. AFC it's easier handicapping going with the Pats, Ravens and Steelers going back to the post season.
