(CBS DETROIT) - A 53-year-old Michigan man who was on parole for a federal bank robbery conviction is back in custody after he allegedly robbed a credit union in Oakland County.

Shannon Donald Sexton, of Belleville, was arraigned Monday in 52-2nd District Court, according to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office. He is being held on a $1 million bond.

Authorities say Sexton allegedly robbed the Vibe Credit Union on Dixie Highway on Thursday, Oct. 19. He entered the bank and allegedly handed the teller a note, telling them to empty the cash drawer. According to the sheriff's office, witnesses reported seeing him wearing a neon yellow/green hoodie, blue face mask, and dark sunglasses.

Sexton fled the credit union and ran toward a gas station with an undisclosed amount of money. He was arrested less than 24 hours later. 

At the time of the robbery, he was on parole from a 2014 conviction for robbing a federal bank. His parole was set to end in 2025. 

He was also convicted in 2010 for robbing banks in Roseville and St. Clair Shores and was sentenced to 30-40 years. He was paroled on April 16, 2023 in those cases.
